The Latest College Football Playoff Rankings Stand Still at the Top
With all five undefeated Power Five teams claiming victories in Week 10, the top five remained unchanged. Ohio State maintained the top spot, followed by Georgia, Michigan, Florida State, and Washington.
The top eight teams also retained their positions, with Oregon remaining the top one-loss team at No. 6, ahead of Texas and Alabama. Meanwhile, Ole Miss climbed to No. 9, and Penn State jumped to No. 10.
Oklahoma’s loss to Oklahoma State caused a shuffle in the rankings, with the Sooners dropping to No. 17 and sitting two spots behind the Cowboys at No. 15. Additionally, LSU and Notre Dame’s losses resulted in them moving down in the rankings.
Georgia and Alabama held on to their rankings in the College Football Playoff rankings after securing victories in Week 10. The committee decided to keep Ohio State at the top spot, deeming their strong second-half performance against Rutgers as convincing enough.
Several key matchups in Week 11 will have major implications for the rankings, including No. 2 Georgia hosting No. 9 Ole Miss and No. 3 Michigan visiting No. 10 Penn State. Also, No. 13 Tennessee will face off against No. 14 Missouri in a game that could impact New Year’s Six bowl selections.
