Introduction

In this article, I will highlight my top four must-start wide receivers for Week 2 of the fantasy football season. These wide receivers are ranked within the top 24 of my positional rankings. You can find my full rankings below, including my quarterback, tight end, and running back rankings for Week 2.

If you’re looking for additional options for your roster, make sure to check out my top add/drops before your waiver wire opens. Please note that players from Thursday’s Philadelphia Eagles-Minnesota Vikings game have been removed from my wide receiver rankings.

Calvin Ridley

Calvin Ridley is my number two wide receiver for Week 2. In Week 1, Ridley had a strong performance, with eight catches for 101 yards and a touchdown. This week, the Jacksonville Jaguars will face the Kansas City Chiefs, a defense that allowed over 250 passing yards and a touchdown in Week 1. I expect Ridley to be the primary target for Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence, and he should easily surpass 100 yards and find the end zone for the second consecutive week. Ridley has the potential to finish as a top-five wide receiver for the season.

Mike Williams

Mike Williams had a solid performance in Week 1, with four catches for 45 yards. However, I expect him to have an even better showing in Week 2. The Los Angeles Chargers will face the Tennessee Titans, a defense that allowed the most fantasy points to wide receivers last season. In Week 1, the Titans gave up 305 passing yards to the New Orleans Saints. I believe Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert will have a big game, and Williams will be one of his top targets. Williams is my number 10 wide receiver for Week 2 and can be considered a low-end WR1 option.

DK Metcalf

DK Metcalf should be a staple in your starting lineup, unless you are in an extremely shallow league. In Week 1, he had three catches for 47 yards and a touchdown. This week, the Seattle Seahawks will face the Detroit Lions, a defense that gave up the second-most fantasy points to wide receivers last season. The Lions struggled to contain the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 1, allowing 226 passing yards and two touchdowns to quarterback Patrick Mahomes. Metcalf should have no trouble finding success against this defense. He is my number 14 wide receiver for Week 2 and can be considered a high-end WR2 option.

DeAndre Hopkins

DeAndre Hopkins had a solid debut with the Tennessee Titans, totaling 65 yards on seven catches in Week 1. Despite quarterback Ryan Tannehill’s struggles, Hopkins was able to produce. In Week 2, the Titans will face the Los Angeles Chargers, a defense that just allowed Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa to throw for over 400 yards and three touchdowns. Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill had a massive game against the Chargers, with 215 yards and two touchdowns. While Hopkins may not have Hill’s speed, he should still have a strong fantasy performance. I expect him to log at least 10 catches for 80 yards. Hopkins is my number 13 wide receiver for Week 2.

Conclusion

In summary, my top must-start wide receivers for Week 2 are Calvin Ridley, Mike Williams, DK Metcalf, and DeAndre Hopkins. These wide receivers have favorable matchups and have the potential to deliver strong fantasy performances. Check out my full rankings below for more options and make sure to set your lineups accordingly for Week 2.
