While these tickets are exclusive to the specified date and train, they offer significant discounts for longer journeys. For example, a ticket from London Euston to Liverpool Lime Street in mid-June costs £32.70 one way and £20 for the return journey. That’s a total of £52.70, a great reduction compared to the starting price of £103.90 for a basic off-peak return ticket.
Advanced tickets usually go on sale 12 weeks prior to the travel date, but for Grand Central, they can be purchased up to 26 weeks in advance for travel between London and any of the company’s calling points in Yorkshire and the North East.
