Christie, who himself has been diagnosed with dementia, shared his experience, stating that his wife noticed his forgetfulness and encouraged him to seek medical advice. After undergoing tests and receiving confirmation of the onset of dementia, Christie has been managing his condition with the aid of strong medication. Despite his personal struggles, Christie has become an inspiration to others facing similar circumstances. By opening up about his own experience on television, he has helped individuals and their loved ones come to terms with their dementia diagnoses. Christie emphasized the importance of removing the stigma associated with dementia and creating an environment where people can openly discuss their challenges. As part of the recording process, five carers from different regions in the UK had the opportunity to join Christie in the studio as backing singers. The song was released on Tuesday, accompanied by a music video recorded at British Grove Studios under the direction of Nick Moran. To commemorate Thank You Day, a nationwide singalong of the single will take place at 12:55 pm. This year’s Thank You Day marks the third annual occurrence, with the previous event bringing together an impressive nine million people in 2022 through various activities such as festivals, street parties, care home gatherings, and choir performances.
