Titans’ Treylon Burks Suffers Potential Leg Injury, Requires Carting Off

EAGAN, Minn. — The Tennessee Titans received a fright when wide receiver Treylon Burks suffered an injury during a joint practice with the Minnesota Vikings on Wednesday.

Burks found an opening in the secondary and made a deep catch from quarterback Ryan Tannehill during team practice. However, his momentum caused him to stumble and lose his balance, resulting in a somersault into the end zone.

Frustrated, Burks got up and spiked the ball. The Titans’ trainers rushed over to assist him, asking him to lay on the ground while examining his left leg. Eventually, they had to cart him off the field.

Teammates DeAndre Hopkins and Derrick Henry, along with general manager Ran Carthon, gathered around Burks to offer support as he was being loaded onto the cart.

“It’s disheartening to see that happen. We’ll have to wait for more information to understand the extent of the injury, but we’re hoping for the best,” Tannehill expressed to reporters. “Clearly, he was upset, and it’s completely understandable. Our thoughts and prayers are with him at this moment, and hopefully, it’s not too severe.”

Burks demonstrated great potential in his rookie season, recording 33 catches for 444 yards and a touchdown in 11 games.
