Tiny Pretty Things actor, Barton Cowperthwaite, recently revealed that he is battling a severe medical condition. The 31-year-old shared the news on Instagram, alongside a photo of himself in a hospital gown. He announced that he has been diagnosed with at least a stage 2 Glioma, which is a fairly large brain tumor, although he explained that the tumor’s cells originated in the brain and did not spread from other parts of his body.
Cowperthwaite shared X-ray images showing the sizeable mass in his brain and explained that the only treatment option is brain surgery. He expressed confidence in his doctors’ ability to remove most of the tumor and expects to make a full recovery following the surgery and rehabilitation. However, he also acknowledged that regular scans and check-ups will now be a part of his life.
His co-stars on Tiny Pretty Things, Brennan Clost and Casimere Jollette, sent messages of support, and Cowperthwaite expressed his gratitude for the overwhelming outpouring of love from friends and fans.
Following the news, Cowperthwaite and his family have set up a Go Fund Me account to help cover expenses during his recovery, as brain surgery is not a cheap procedure. Any funds raised will go toward supporting him and his family during this challenging time.
Despite the difficulty of his situation, Cowperthwaite remains optimistic, vowing to face this challenge head-on with the support of his loved ones.
