Tim Bliefnick Convicted for Killing His Wife Becky

In a tragic turn of events, Timothy “Tim” Bliefnick, the estranged husband of Illinois nurse and mother, Rebecca “Becky” Postle Bliefnick, was found guilty of her murder by a jury in Adams County. According to prosecutors, on the night of February 23, 2022, Tim rode a bicycle to Becky’s house, climbed through a second-floor window using a crowbar, chased her to the bathroom, and shot her 14 times.

The trial lasted seven days and the jury deliberated for less than a day before delivering its verdict of first-degree murder and home invasion. In its closing arguments, the prosecution presented a damning case against Tim, citing evidence such as his laptop’s history of Google searches for “How to make a homemade pistol silencer” and “Can you wash off gunpowder residue” and testimonies from Becky’s friends who claimed that she had expressed fear for her life due to Tim’s unpredictable and vengeful behavior.

Despite the circumstances of Becky’s death, her family offered a loving tribute to her in a GoFundMe post, describing her as a compassionate and generous person who cherished her family. They also promised to care for her three sons for the rest of their lives in the way they know Becky would want.

The verdict delivered justice for Becky, but her family acknowledged that the judicial process could not bring her back nor heal their wounds. The National Domestic Violence Hotline is available in the U.S for anyone who needs help.
