Tim Anderson’s suspension for altercation with Jose Ramirez diminished

CHICAGO — Major League Baseball has reached a settlement with Chicago White Sox star Tim Anderson regarding his involvement in a benches-clearing brawl with Cleveland’s José Ramírez. As part of the settlement, Anderson’s six-game suspension has been reduced to five games. Anderson, who expressed his apologies for his role in the brawl, will begin serving his suspension on Friday when the White Sox face off against the Colorado Rockies in a three-game series.

Ramírez, on the other hand, initially faced a three-game suspension but had his penalty reduced to two games.

Anderson received the harsher punishment due to his role in instigating the fight. On August 5th, Anderson and Ramirez engaged in a confrontation in the middle of the infield, exchanging punches. Ramirez ultimately knocked Anderson down with a blow to the face. The fight began after Ramirez slid headfirst into second base, causing Anderson to take offense to the hard tag.
