In a bold move, Mark Zuckerberg is set to launch a “Twitter clone” that many social media analysts view as a significant competitor to Elon Musk’s Twitter. This new microblogging app, called Threads, will operate under Meta, the parent company of Facebook, WhatsApp, and Instagram. With Meta leveraging its Instagram user base to rapidly grow Threads’ user base, it has the potential to outpace other Twitter alternatives such as Mastodon, Truth Social, and Bluesky. Threads will provide Instagram users with a seamless experience by allowing them to log in using their existing Instagram account and maintain their username.
