The developers of Forza Horizon have finally given the green light to include the Tsuru in their latest release. This decision was long overdue, as the Tsuru is a vital component in capturing the authentic essence of Mexican car culture. It may have taken some time, but the studio recognized the Tsuru’s legendary status and its importance in the game.

The Nissan Tsuru is adored for its simplicity and straightforwardness. It’s known for being a no-frills car. Unfortunately, it also has a notorious reputation for safety, scoring a dismal zero out of five stars in crash safety tests conducted by Latin NCAP. Despite this, the Tsuru remains an icon in Mexico. The Japanese automaker may have halted production, but the car continues to serve as a symbol of the country. You can spot it on the roads, often used by taxi drivers and government agencies.

Here at Jalopnik, we’ve always had a soft spot for this little car. Our former video game expert, Adam Ismail, who now writes for The Drive, provided us with the exciting news. When Forza Horizon 5 was initially announced and the developers mentioned that the game would be set in Mexico, fans couldn’t help but speculate about the inclusion of the Nissan Tsuru. It’s incredible to see this dream come true after a couple of years. Now, players can drive the Tsuru, or Sentra, as it is known in some regions, and challenge the likes of Porsches, just like its larger sibling, the Maxima. You can even customize the Tsuru with different engines and give it an authentic feel by adding a taxi livery. The legend lives on, both in the game and in reality.
