The English Football Association is actively seeking a friendly match against Argentina, the reigning World Cup champions.
It has been nearly two decades since these two nations faced off in competition.
However, discussions have taken place with the Argentine Football Association to arrange a friendly fixture that could potentially include Lionel Messi returning to Wembley, as reported by ESPN.
Argentina is reportedly charging £3.9 million ($5 million) for friendly matches following their World Cup victory in Qatar last year.
Nevertheless, FA chief executive Mark Bullingham assures that financing the match will not be an issue given the limited number of international friendly opportunities available.
