In the ever-mentioned and highly promoted Biden administration’s energy transition, which supposedly holds the key to saving us from impending climate doom, it turns out that the whole concept is a complete farce.
The latest data, including the industry-standard Statistical Review of World Energy, paint a different picture from what Politico claims as a transition “well underway”.
Between 2004 and 2022, global spending on wind and solar power amounted to $4.1 trillion. However, during the same period, the consumption of hydrocarbon-based energy sources such as oil, gas, and coal increased by 110 exajoules, compared to a mere 32 exajoules from wind and solar.
In fact, the only year since 2010 that witnessed a decrease in fossil fuel usage was 2020, and it took a global pandemic and strict restrictions to achieve that decline.
Without such extreme measures, the use of “dirty” energy sources continues to grow at a faster rate than the adoption of “clean” energy.
