“The Crown”: Season 6 Reveals First Look at Princes William and Harry – National Reveals Exclusive Sneak Peek

New Photos Released from The Crown Season 6, Giving a First Look at Young Prince Harry and Prince William

New photos from the highly anticipated sixth and final season of The Crown have just been released, offering fans their first glimpse of how the young versions of Prince Harry and Prince William will be portrayed. Each season of The Crown delves into a different era of the British Royal Family’s history, and Season 6 takes viewers back to the late 1990s. This is a crucial time for the royal princes as they grow up, while their parents, Princess Diana and then-Prince Charles, navigate their post-divorce lives.

The upcoming season, which premieres on November 16, will be split into two parts. The first part will focus on Diana and her boyfriend, Dodi Al Fayed. The second part, set to release in mid-December, will explore the royal family’s journey following Diana’s tragic death in 1997, all the way up to 2005. This will include the early courtship of William and Kate Middleton.

In the recently unveiled first-look photos, we get to see the two actors who will be portraying William and Harry in their younger years and young adulthood. Rufus Kampa will play the elder prince in part one, while Ed McVey will take on the role in part two. Fflyn Edwards will portray the younger brother in the first part, and Luther Ford will step into the role in the second part.

Elizabeth Debicki will reprise her role as Princess Diana, alongside Dominic West as Prince Charles, for the final season of The Crown. Speaking at the Edinburgh TV Festival in August, executive producer Suzanne Mackie assured fans that the portrayal of Diana’s death will be handled with care. “The show might be big and noisy, but we’re not,” she stated. “We’re thoughtful people and we’re sensitive people.” She explained that there were careful and lengthy discussions about how to approach the sensitive subject matter.

Elizabeth Debicki also expressed her trust in the show’s creator and writer, Peter Morgan, for guiding her through portraying Diana’s final days. In a press release from Netflix, she said, “I think it’s a really unique challenge as an actor to portray those days… I really just trusted in Peter’s emotional blueprint that he created for us to follow. It’s his interpretation, and I think it made emotional sense to me, so I clung to that. Because, obviously, it’s devastating and it’s fraught and we can never know.”

The Crown has faced criticism, particularly as it nears more recent history. Oscar-winning actor Judi Dench wrote an open letter to The Times UK last year, stating that the show presents “an inaccurate and hurtful account of history.” Netflix has defended the series as a fictional dramatization based on well-documented historical events. Prince Harry, in an interview with James Corden, expressed his comfort with The Crown, acknowledging its fictional nature compared to the news stories written about him and his family.
