Ted Cruz Exposed Again For Sharing Another Highly Deceptive Tweet

Senator Ted Cruz of Texas fell prey to misinformation on social media once again on Monday, when he shared a misleading tweet about the border.

The tweet that Cruz retweeted contained a video showing a portion of the border wall seemingly welded open.

The original message claimed, “The Biden administration welded open the Trump border wall in Tucson, AZ. It’s not a crisis. It’s by design.”

Cruz referred to it as “nuts” and attributed it to President Joe Biden when he shared the tweet.

This message has been circulating in right-wing media outlets.

However, a community note attached to the original tweet points out that the gates are open due to the risk of flash floods, which could potentially topple the wall.

This policy was also in place during Donald Trump’s presidency, as reported by The Washington Post in January 2020.

At that time, Cruz did not see any issue with it.

Cruz has had well-documented struggles with social media platforms, especially Twitter.

Just last week, for instance, he fell for a hoax video supposedly showing a shark swimming in the flooded waters of the 405 freeway in Los Angeles — a video that resurfaces as a joke during many floods.

In 2017, his Twitter account “liked” a hardcore porn video, which he later attributed to a staffer. Moreover, his trip to Cancun while his state experienced severe power outages during a debilitating storm was exposed through pictures on social media. His attempts to make light of the situation with tweets did not go over well.
