Earlier in the evening, they both participated in a recording of the popular sketch show hosted by Pete Davidson.
The comedian joined forces with fellow comics Kenan Thompson, Mikey Day, James Austin Johnson, Molly Kearney, and Devon Walker for a skit parodying the Fox “NFL Sunday pregame show.” As reporters at a game between the Philadelphia Eagles and the New York Jets, they cleverly referenced Kelce and Swift’s romance throughout the sketch.

The skit played on the idea that Swift, famous for her hit “Cruel Summer,” was attending to support her beau’s brother, Jason, who plays for the Eagles. This clever nod paid homage to Swift’s frequent appearances in the crowd at Chiefs games in recent times.
The script also made references to Swift’s presence at their recent game against the New York Jets, where she was seen alongside her celebrity friends Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds. It even acknowledged her past relationships with Joe Alwyn and Matty Healy, the lead singer of the band 1975.
During the skit, Michael Strahan’s character directly addressed Kelce, imparting some words of wisdom regarding his relationship with Swift: “Hey, look, I just want to say whatever it is, I want to say to Travis Kelce, from one Super Bowl Champion to another, this is a way bigger deal than the Super Bowl.”
In a warning to the 34-year-old, he added, “You cannot mess this up. This is very delicate.” To the surprise of the studio audience, Kelce himself made a surprise appearance towards the end of the skit.
Kenan Thompson then cut to a commercial, exclaiming his desire to “speak with someone who actually wants to talk football.” Much to the shock of the audience, Kelce appeared on stage, delivering his short-but-sweet line of “Yes, please!” The unexpected moment was met with great enthusiasm from the unsuspecting crowd.
Following this, Swift also made a cameo appearance on set, introducing her fellow musician Ice Spice as the hip hop star prepared for her second performance of the evening. The new couple then continued their night at the SNL afterparty, leaving together while holding hands on a wintry New York night.
This public appearance marked the first time the duo openly acknowledged their relationship in such a public way.
