Swift surprises tour truckers with big rewards

Taylor Swift is not only leaving a lasting impact on the cities she performs in, but she is also making a significant impact on the financial well-being of the truckers responsible for transporting her gear for the Eras Tour. The 33-year-old superstar recently performed at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. According to TMZ, Swift surprised each of the big-rig drivers accompanying her on tour with $100,000 bonus checks before the show. With approximately 50 truckers commissioned by Swift, this generous gesture amounted to a $5 million payday for the drivers.

TMZ’s sources reveal that these unexpected bonus checks are “end of tour” bonuses, as the US leg of her concert lineup is coming to a close next week. Other members of Swift’s team, such as dancers, lighting and sound technicians, and caterers, were also reported to have received a “very generous amount” from Swift. While this reflects the positive side of Swift’s recent two-night performance at Levi’s Stadium, there were also some hiccups. The Mercury News shares that Swift’s concert exceeded the venue’s 11pm weekend curfew on both nights, ending at 11:38pm on Friday and 11:26pm on Saturday.

While Swift’s shows were the first to break the curfew, Santa Clara’s spokeswoman mentioned that the city’s police did not receive any noise complaints. Therefore, it remains unclear if there will be any consequences for Swift’s team. Notably, the Zuckerbergs were among those in attendance on Friday night. People reports that Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg and his wife Priscilla Chan attended the performance with their young daughters. Zuckerberg shared a photo on Instagram showing him wearing jewel stick-ons on his face and a friendship bracelet on his wrist, captioned “Life of a girl dad.” (Read more Taylor Swift stories.)
