With production facilities in 10 countries and products sold in 184 nations across the globe, Suzuki has established itself as a leading brand in the automotive industry.
The journey to this milestone began in October 1955 with the launch of Japan’s first mass-production mini-vehicle, the Suzulight. Over the years, Suzuki expanded its presence in the global automobile market with the introduction of the compact vehicle, Fronte 800, in 1965.

Suzuki’s international presence grew with the commencement of overseas sales in 1959. The company ventured into overseas automobile production in 1975 with its operations in Pakistan, which paved the way for successful expansions in other countries. Noteworthy milestones include the establishment of production bases in India in 1983 and Hungary in 1992.
Among Suzuki’s diverse lineup of small and compact vehicles, the Alto has emerged as an iconic model, accounting for 20 percent of the 80 million units sold since its launch in 1979.
