Suspect Apprehended by Police for Assaulting Taco Stand

An arrest has been made in the case of a woman who allegedly assaulted an employee at a taco stand in the Watts area over the weekend, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

The incident occurred at the intersection of Grandee Avenue and 103rd Street on Sunday evening. The investigation revealed that after being asked to pay for the food she had consumed, the suspect, identified as Renee Latrice Hines, punched and pepper sprayed the employee. The shocking assault was captured on video by a bystander.

Following a public appeal for information, Hines, a 36-year-old resident of Bakersfield, was apprehended on Thursday. She has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon and her bail has been set at $30,000.

In a disturbing turn of events, Hines became agitated when she noticed being recorded by the bystander and allegedly threw the taco stand sign towards them. She then fled the scene in a purple 2007 Lexus with California license plate number 8VIT633, as reported by the police.

The victim of the assault received medical attention from the Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics.
