Susie Hilfiger’s Connecticut Estate Sold at $25M Discount

Fashion designer Tommy Hilfiger’s former wife, Susie Hilfiger, has successfully sold her luxurious estate in Greenwich, Connecticut for a price well below the initial asking amount. Originally listed at $40 million in 2021, the sprawling property was purchased for $15 million, according to Janet Milligan, the listing agent from Sotheby’s International Realty – Greenwich Brokerage, as reported by the Wall Street Journal. The property, which spans approximately 20 acres, was last listed at $17.99 million. Milligan stated that the price adjustments were influenced by market trends, noting that the property was launched during the height of the COVID pandemic when the average sales price in Greenwich had risen. However, the market has now stabilized.

Despite the significant difference from the original asking price, the purchase price still exceeded the $8.5 million paid by Susie and Tommy Hilfiger when they bought the property in 1995. The sale also set a record for the area, making it the most expensive transaction in Greenwich this year.

The estate features a grand main house boasting around 14,000 square feet of space, including seven bedrooms, a sitting room with a fireplace, and unique amenities such as a flower-arranging room and a silver storage room, as reported by the Journal. Alongside the main house, the property encompasses various outbuildings like a guest house, a six-stall barn, three paddocks, and additional amenities including a pool, tennis courts, and meticulously landscaped grounds.

In a separate transaction, Tommy Hilfiger sold his own Greenwich mansion during the peak of the local real estate market’s pandemic boom. The estate, listed for $47.5 million in 2020, found a buyer quickly after just four showings and three offers, according to The Post. Milligan, who also represented Tommy Hilfiger, described the mansion as cozy and warm, with almost every room being utilized by Hilfiger and his wife Dee Ocleppo.

Overall, Susie Hilfiger’s estate sale marked a significant event in Greenwich’s real estate market, with its impressive features and lush surroundings capturing attention and fetching a notable price.
