Sunny Hostin Criticizes Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner for Exploiting Children as ‘Pawns’ during Divorce

These views were less than sunny. Sunny Hostin, 54, and Joy Behar, 80, didn’t hold back while discussing the recent split of Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner on “The View”. The hosts expressed concern about the effects of the divorce on their two young children. Turner gave birth to their first daughter, Willa, in July 2020, and their second daughter two years later.

Behar cautioned, “When you have kids and you’re getting a divorce, be very careful what you do. Those kids will be scarred and remember this forever.” Hostin also chimed in, pointing out that it seems like the couple is using their children as pawns, referencing the details of Turner’s custody petition. Both Hostin and Behar accused Jonas and Turner of jeopardizing their daughters’ wellbeing with their messy divorce.

On September 4, Jonas, 34, officially filed for divorce from Turner, citing that the relationship was “irretrievably broken”. Just three weeks later, Turner filed a lawsuit against Jonas, accusing him of refusing to allow their daughters to return to their “forever home” in England. The suit claims that Jonas has breached Turner’s rights of custody under English law and is unlawfully withholding the children’s passports.

Jonas responded to Turner’s claims in a statement to The Post, stating his desire for shared parenting and asserting that the children are American citizens by birth. He labeled Turner’s claims as misleading and an abuse of the legal system.

“The View” host Alyssa Farah Griffin, 34, also shared her thoughts on the situation, criticizing the way the Jonas camp appeared to be attempting to shame Turner. Griffin expressed concern that the situation could escalate into an international custody battle.
