The Financial Times conducted its inaugural Tech Champions survey in 2021, which focused on companies’ responses to the Covid pandemic. However, the disruptions have continued to impact businesses and shape their strategies.
In light of ongoing events such as Russia’s conflict with Ukraine, tensions between the US and China, persistent inflation, and the need for sustainable solutions due to climate change, businesses are facing numerous challenges. Additionally, the advent of artificial intelligence presents both threats to established practices and opportunities for innovation.
If you know of companies that are effectively tackling these challenges, we invite you to nominate them for the Financial Times’s “Tech Champions of 2023” project.
In partnership with Workday, we aim to highlight UK and European businesses, as well as other organizations, that are utilizing technology to adapt to new risks and opportunities.

Building upon last year’s Tech Champions, we seek examples of innovation that can help companies and society overcome geopolitical turmoil, economic challenges, and disruptive AI.
Nominations are now being accepted through a brief online form. The entries will be thoroughly researched by FT journalists and used to compile a shortlist. A panel of judges will then review the nominated companies and select the best examples from various sectors, crowning them as the “Tech Champions of 2023”. We welcome nominations from the following sectors:
The selected “Tech Champions of 2023” will be showcased in a special online report released in November. Accompanying articles will feature profiles of the companies and their senior management, as well as an exploration of their innovative approaches, perseverance, and technical brilliance.
