July 28 (UPI) — Sony Pictures announced the release dates for its 2024 movies on Friday. These include the third installment of the Venom franchise and the fourth entry in the Bad Boys series.

Venom 3 was one of the films affected by the SAG-AFTRA strike on July 14. The July 12, 2024, release date suggests that Sony is optimistic about completing the film in time for next summer after incorporating all the required visual effects.

Sony has listed both an Untitled Venom Sequel and an Untitled Bad Boys Sequel, which will be the third and fourth films in their respective series. The second Venom film was titled Let There Be Carnage, while the third Bad Boys film was titled Bad Boys for Life.

In February, Will Smith and Martin Lawrence announced the fourth Bad Boys film. Production began in Atlanta in April, and the movie is scheduled for release on June 14, just in time for Father’s Day.

The release of the new Ghostbusters film, originally set for a holiday release, has been postponed until March 29. Kraven the Hunter has also been rescheduled from this October to Labor Day weekend in 2024, specifically on August 30.

A new Karate Kid film is set to be released on December 13, 2024. The release dates for Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse and the Blumhouse horror film They Listen are currently uncertain.

Sony has mentioned that they are considering several dates for the third Spider-Verse film, depending on the duration of the strike. Although animation writers are not part of the WGA, voice actors fall under the jurisdiction of SAG-AFTRA.

The Spider-Man spin-off film Madame Web will now release two days earlier than originally planned, on February 14.

This year, Gran Turismo has been rescheduled from August 11 to August 25. Sony has announced sneak previews for the two previous weekends and has requested fans to promote the film since actors are unable to participate in publicity activities due to the strike.

According to Variety, Warner Bros. is also considering postponing the release of Dune: Part Two, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, and The Color Purple this fall due to the strike. However, Warner Bros. has not made an official announcement yet.
