Steelers Dominate Bengals with Big Turnover in 16-10 Victory

In a critical AFC North game at a rainy, chilly Paycor Stadium, the Steelers showcased their hallmark defense and a revived offense to spoil Bengals quarterback Jake Browning’s first NFL start with a 16-10 victory.

The Steelers, now 7-4, dominated the game late with their first 400-yard game in 59 games, totaling 421 yards. The defense constantly pressured Browning with four sacks, limiting him to 19 of 26 for 227 yards and a 96.2 passer rating, solid but not enough to outduel the Steelers quarterback Kenny Pickett.

Pickett shone on third down, converting eight of 16 before the kneel down on his way to 278 yards, the second most of his career.

Despite the Bengals cutting the lead to 16-10 with 2:04 left on a 47-yard field goal, the Steelers covered the ensuing on-side kick, securing the win.

The game pitted the NFL’s leading team in turnover differential (the Steelers) against the team tied for third (the Bengals), placing pressure on Browning to avoid turnovers.

But Browning’s first NFL interception came on a shot at wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase in the flat, leading to a game-changing turnover and a Steelers touchdown drive.

Penalties compounded the Bengals’ challenges, with tight end Irv Smith Jr. called for holding and Browning getting sacked by the Steelers’ Cam Heyward.

The Steelers continued to capitalize, extending their lead to 13-7 and 16-10 with successful drives against a struggling Bengals defense.

Rookie cornerback D.J. Turner made a game-saving play, forcing a field goal with a crucial third-down play as the Bengals fought to stay in the game.

Chase made a remarkable play on the Bengals’ lone scoring drive, showcasing his talent and contribution to their offense.

Despite the Bengals’ efforts, the Steelers’ dominance prevailed, with Browning struggling to match the Steelers’ offensive and defensive prowess.
