Star of ‘Jackass,’ Bam Margera, to face trial following allegations of assault against his brother in a physical altercation

A judge in Pennsylvania made the decision on Thursday that Bam Margera, star of “Jackass,” will face trial following an incident with his brother in May. The judge also ordered Margera to undergo a drug and alcohol screening in order to remain out on bail. Margera, who pleaded not guilty to charges of assault, harassment, and terroristic threats, has been living with former Los Angeles Lakers player Lamar Odom and receiving treatment for substance abuse and alcoholism.

During the trial, Margera’s brother, Jess Margera, testified about his brother’s troubling behavior over the past two decades and expressed his desire for Bam to receive help. According to Jess, the altercation occurred after Bam discovered a text message suggesting he needed mental health treatment. Bam allegedly assaulted his brother, causing injuries to his nose and ear. Jess’ girlfriend called the police after Bam kicked down her door, and Bam attempted to flee the scene through a wooded area but was later apprehended.

Both sides ultimately prioritized Bam’s continued treatment, and prosecutors agreed to drop two of the terroristic threat charges. The focus was on ensuring Bam’s safety and well-being. Judge Albert Iacocca expressed his concern for Bam’s welfare and asked him what motivated him to seek help this year, to which Bam responded that he wanted to be there for his son, Phoenix.

Bam Margera became famous as part of the “Jackass” crew, a group known for their wild stunts and pranks which were documented on MTV from 2000 to 2001. The trial will continue as Margera faces the charges against him.
