`Spider-Man’ Dominates Box Office, `Elemental’ Takes Second Place as `Flash’ Slips to Third

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse triumphantly reclaimed the top spot at North American theaters, narrowly surpassing Disney’s Elemental with a weekend earnings of $19 million, as revealed by the latest figures on Monday. The animated sequel of Spider-Man has amassed an impressive total of over $316.7 million in just four weeks of its theatrical run, according to box-office tracker Comscore.

Meanwhile, Elemental managed to secure second place with a weekend earning of $18.4 million, contributing to a total of $65.5 million over its two weeks since release.

Securing third place was The Flash, raking in $15.1 million. Jennifer Lawrence’s R-rated comedy, No Hard Feelings, made its debut with a strong opening of $15 million. Transformers: Rise of the Beasts earned $11.7 million, landing it in fifth place.

Rounding out the top 10 domestic releases were Asteroid City ($9 million), The Little Mermaid ($8.6 million), Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3 ($3.5 million), The Blackening ($3 million), and The Boogeyman ($2.6 million).

The overall three-day box office haul for the weekend reached an estimated $109.7 million. Year-to-date, the total box office earnings stand at an impressive $4.352 billion, marking a considerable 21% increase compared to the same period last year, according to Comscore.
