The company mistakenly packaged Hatch Green Chile and Cheese Tamales in Black Bean Tamale Bags, leading to potential food contamination.
According to Trader Joe’s, these recalls are purely coincidental, as each recall stemmed from a different manufacturing facility. The company maintains a close relationship with its vendors and prioritizes the safety of its products. As soon as an issue is discovered, Trader Joe’s immediately removes the affected products from its shelves.
The recent recall of black bean tamales has not resulted in any reported illnesses, and mislabeled products have been taken off sale. The decision to recall these products was prompted by a consumer complaint, which revealed that milk allergens were present in packages that did not disclose their presence. This issue was identified as a temporary lapse in the company’s packaging processes.
The recalled tamales were sold in Trader Joe’s stores across multiple states, including Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Kansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and Texas.
