Shocking Twist: Cruise Ship Returns, Passenger Unaccounted for

A 26-year-old man has gone missing after his return to Florida on a Carnival cruise ship. Kevin McGrath set off from Miami on Friday for a Labor Day weekend cruise to Bimini, Bahamas. Unfortunately, McGrath was not found when the ship returned to Miami on Monday. According to Miami-Dade Police Det. Angel Rodriguez, who was quoted by People, McGrath’s brother last saw him in his cabin at around 2 am. It was expected that he would join the family for breakfast before disembarking from the ship, but he never showed up.

However, Carnival Cruise Line contradicts this account, as reported by Fox News. They claim that McGrath’s cabinmate saw him at around 7 am, which is when passengers began to disembark at PortMiami. Other sources state that the family reported him missing around 7 am, causing some confusion. Despite conducting a search of the ship, McGrath was not located, and US Customs and Border Patrol did not observe him leaving the ship. According to Rodriguez, there were no indications on the ship’s cameras and security devices that he had gone overboard.

Nonetheless, the US Coast Guard launched a helicopter search but found no sign of the missing man, according to Fox. The Coast Guard is currently actively searching for McGrath near PortMiami and along the South Florida shore. As stated by the New York Post, he is 5 feet, 9 inches tall and weighs 170 pounds. He has brown hair and eyes and was last seen wearing a black shirt, black shorts, and gray sneakers. Meanwhile, another family awaits answers after a 19-year-old college student from Texas went overboard near Cuba during a cruise on Royal Caribbean’s Wonder of the Seas on Aug. 29.
