Shocking Incident: Neighbor’s Son Tragically Slain in Alleged Tree Trimming Dispute

In a shocking incident in Florida, a man allegedly shot his neighbor’s son during an argument over tree trimming. According to the Volusia Sheriff’s Office, Brian Ford, 42, was trimming tree limbs along the fence line separating 1880 and 1890 Alameda Drive in DeLeon Springs. The two homes belong to Ford’s mother and Edward Druzolowski, respectively. The argument escalated and turned fatal, with CNN reporting that 78-year-old Druzolowski shot and killed Ford.

As per court documents, Druzolowski claims that when he confronted Ford, Ford brushed him off and told him to mind his own business. Feeling threatened by Ford’s advance, Druzolowski, who had a gun on him, fired the first shot to scare Ford away. However, when Ford continued to approach him, Druzolowski fired again, this time fatally shooting Ford. Druzolowski explained to detectives that he keeps the first two rounds empty for safety reasons. He also mentioned his fear of being pushed to the ground due to his osteoporosis, as it would have caused severe pain.

Druzolowski has been charged with second-degree murder and is currently held without bond. He is scheduled to be arraigned on October 12. In a 911 call made by Druzolowski’s wife, she claimed that her husband only intended to scare Ford. Another 911 call made by Ford’s mother stated that Ford’s 8-year-old son witnessed the shooting. Linda Ford, the victim’s mother, asserted that her son did not cross into his neighbor’s property, emphasizing that her fence is 2 feet within her yard. (Read more Florida stories.)
