Shocking Incident: Man Arrested for Assaulting Reporter Live On Air

In a shocking incident, a man has recently been arrested in Spain on suspicion of sexual assault after appearing to grope reporter Isa Balado during a live broadcast in Madrid. The incident, captured in a video, shows the man allegedly groping Balado’s rear while she was reporting on a robbery. Despite the discomfort, Balado tried to continue the broadcast, but the incident was immediately noticed by producer Nacho Abad. He intervened and demanded to put the “idiot” on camera, according to Reuters. The man denied the allegations, but as he walked away, he attempted to touch Balado’s head. He then lingered on the street and approached Balado once again, telling her to “tell the truth.” The entire incident was captured in the BBC report.

This incident has sparked outrage in Spain, coming just days after the resignation of Spain’s soccer chief, who faced criticism for kissing team captain Jenni Hermoso without her consent. Spanish lawmakers have condemned the incident, with acting equality minister Irene Montero stating in a tweet that what was once considered “normal” is no longer acceptable. She emphasized that non-consensual touching is sexual violence and they will not tolerate it. Yolanda Diaz, Spain’s labor minister, also commented on the incident, attributing it to machismo and stating that the aggressors show no repentance even in front of the camera. These remarks were reported by The Guardian.

Isa Balado is a reporter for the Cuatro channel. The channel’s owner, Mediaset Espana, has expressed its full support for Balado and condemned any form of harassment or aggression. They called the police during the incident, and authorities arrived on the scene within minutes to handle the situation.
