An asylum seeker was accused of forcibly sexually assaulting a mother in the presence of her kids in Gloucester. This horrifying incident was caught on camera by a child in a passing car.
The mother, aged 43, had been walking with her children when she felt a man following her. Anxious, she warned him to keep his distance. Despite her warning, the man, identified as Chris Buyoye, approached her and pretended to shoo away a bee and then proceeded to grab her and simulate a sexual act from behind.
‘Pushing his pelvic area’
According to the prosecution, Buyoye locked her arms and pushed his pelvic area into her buttocks, leaving her unable to move. Fortunately, she was able to break free when he momentarily relaxed his grip. Good Samaritans in a nearby car witnessed the incident and offered to help, while also calling the police.
Buyoye denied the allegations, claiming that the woman had bent over and he didn’t know what a bee was. However, he was found guilty at trial and sentenced to immediate imprisonment.
‘Convicted for very similar offence’
Judge Rupert Lowe expressed dismay at Buyoye’s lack of remorse and sentenced him to 18 months in prison, revoking a previous community order. He also placed Buyoye on the sex offenders register for 10 years.
