Shift the blame for the NYC migrant crisis from migrants to Joe Biden

As anger towards President Biden’s open-border policy grows among Americans, including Democrats, it’s important to reserve some of that anger for the true villains in this situation: the cartels and the illegal migrants. These migrants are primarily responding to incentives, as they are just regular people in countries facing poverty or dictatorships who saw Biden’s policies as an invitation to come to America.

Before Biden even took office, he and his party sent a message that foreigners interpreted as an invitation to come to America. Desperate individuals from countries facing poverty or dictatorships quickly responded to this offer.

If you were in their shoes, you would do the same.

With the border remaining open, migrants began coming from all corners of the world.

This clearly demonstrates that the problem has always been a lack of border enforcement.

Earlier this year, Biden and his team proposed that Vice President Kamala Harris address the root causes of the crisis in Central America’s Northern Triangle (El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras). However, it turns out that fixing the root causes would require fixing the entire world.

Despite its supposed humanitarian motives, Biden’s policy is cruel. In order to stay in America, migrants must first risk their lives by embarking on a treacherous journey, possibly thousands of miles long, through harsh conditions.

On this journey, they face deceitful drug dealers, cutthroat coyotes, human sex-traffickers, and other dangerous individuals.

The crossing itself can be deadly. In the past year alone, a record number of more than 890 migrants died at the border due to drowning, falling from heights, dehydration, or other means. This was a 58% increase from the previous year, which also set a record.

Additionally, there is no tracking of deaths, rapes, or other violence that may occur along the way.

Furthermore, there has been an increase in migrants on the terror watchlist attempting to cross the border. With hundreds of thousands of “gotaways” who avoid detection at the border, it is evident that some individuals are able to make it through.

In addition, drug cartels are exploiting thousands of migrants by convincing them to rush across the border and turn themselves in to border agents. This overwhelms the patrols and allows for unfettered smuggling operations.

This overwhelming situation has other consequences. Court documents have revealed that agents have been separating children and parents, at least temporarily. One agent even suggests that this may still be happening, despite Biden criticizing such practices during Trump’s term.

For those who do make it across, they are either forced to remain unemployed or work illegally. Even genuine asylum-seekers are not allowed to work until at least six months after filing their claims.

Those who know they will never qualify for asylum or simply choose not to pursue it must live in the shadows indefinitely. This is until progressives gain enough power to push for mass legalization.

Biden and his administration ignore all of this and allow migrants to enter without any legal means to work.

While some migrants have family or friends in the US, many are left with nowhere to go and end up on the streets or in overcrowded shelters.

Cities like New York are struggling to accommodate the increasing number of migrants. The city’s shelter population, including 50,000 migrants, reached a record high of over 100,000 this summer, a 67% increase compared to pre-Biden levels.

In an attempt to address the issue, Mayor Eric Adams sought to relocate migrants outside of New York City. However, this led to counties banning city buses carrying migrants. Adams has recently dropped legal action against most of these bans.

The migrants themselves pose a significant burden. Adams has warned that they will cost the city $12 billion through 2025, and budget cuts of up to 15% have been ordered.

Locals in various cities are expressing their opposition to the presence of migrants. They are concerned about competition for jobs, and this sentiment is not limited to New York.

In the midst of all this, migrants who are just seeking a better life in America face numerous challenges. However, President Biden shows no remorse for the current situation.

As a result, everyone is suffering. Border towns and “destination” cities are overwhelmed, migrants are struggling to find stability in America, and even legal immigrants who followed the proper procedures are facing longer wait times due to the immigration system’s backlog.

It is important not to blame the new migrants for this disaster, even if they end up in your neighborhood. They are people who deserve compassion. Instead, the focus of anger should be directed towards Biden and his open-door policy. It is essential to demand an end to this unnecessary and torturous situation.
