Sharon Cuneta advised rest after undergoing endoscopy for alleviating nasal congestion to avoid infections.

The renowned actress Sharon Cuneta has been advised by her physicians to take a break from using her voice due to a presumed bacterial infection. This infection has caused her nasal passages to be blocked and her throat to swell.
In a recent Instagram post, Cuneta shared that as part of her treatment, she underwent a nasal endoscopy. This procedure involves the insertion of an instrument called an endoscope through the nasal cavity to examine the sinus passages.
Cuneta captioned her post, “Yesterday, I visited my doctor at St. Luke’s BGC. She used a camera to examine my nose and mouth. My nose was severely blocked and my throat was swollen, putting me at risk of infection, hence the many medicines I’m taking now.”
Her doctors informed her that she may have become accustomed to her condition and overlooked the potential seriousness of it.
Cuneta jokingly said, “I may have gotten used to having a blocked nose and a bad throat, so I no longer recognize the symptoms. It must have been because of the unpredictable weather during our shooting.”

Prior to her guesting on the premier episode of Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon’s E.A.T. on TV5, Cuneta already felt that her throat was acting up.
She playfully remarked, “That’s why I didn’t have a voice when they asked me to sing ‘Bituing Walang Ningning’ on EAT. I should have asked for my voice to be wrapped.”
Cuneta also mentioned that stress may have worsened her condition, resulting in her needing to miss some shooting days for her movie with Alden Richards, titled “A Mother and Son’s Story.”
She expressed her gratitude to those who caused her stress by saying, “Thank you so much for all the stress you’ve given me. I’ve handed all of you to God! And on top of that, I have acid reflux, my goodness.”
The movie, which also stars Cuneta’s friend Jackie Lous Blanco, is directed by Nuel Naval and has been confirmed as one of the first four entries for the 49th Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF). EDV
