Aug. 18 (UPI) — Selena Gomez is making a comeback in the music scene next week.
The 31-year-old singer and actress delighted fans by announcing her upcoming “fun” single, “Single Soon,” in a social media post on Thursday.
Gomez revealed that although her new album, SG3, is not yet complete, she wanted to share a playful song she wrote some time ago that is perfect for the end of summer. “Single Soon” is scheduled for release on August 25th.
The announcement was accompanied by promotional artwork for the single and snapshots from a night out.
“Single Soon” will mark Gomez’s first song of 2023, following her last release, “My Mind & Me,” in November 2022 for her Apple TV+ documentary Selena Gomez: My Mind & Me.
Gomez’s most recent album, Rare, was released in January 2020, and she followed it up with the Spanish-language EP, Revelación, in March 2021.
In December 2022, Gomez teased her upcoming music during The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, expressing her desire to veer away from her signature sad-girl songs and embrace a more fun and upbeat style.
Aside from her music career, Gomez can also be seen on the Hulu series Only Murders in the Building, which premiered its third season in August.
