The Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office issued an announcement on Thursday, seeking a group of individuals who are reportedly uncooperative with the investigation into a fatal shooting at a North Kitsap residence last October. The sheriff’s office initially singled out Gerald Elkins, John McConaghy, Jessica Freeman, and Patrick Barnes as the four individuals that detectives wanted to interview in connection with the death of 38-year-old Brandon Lyle Egeler of Bremerton. According to the sheriff’s office, the four individuals have active warrants for their arrest, as stated in a social media post on Thursday.
In the midst of the investigation, Elkins has been interviewed by law enforcement. Meanwhile, two men, Caleb Sloan and Aksel Strom, were formally charged with murder shortly after the fatal shooting on Oct. 3. Strom was later apprehended in Pacific County, but Sloan is still at large.
Court documents revealed that a witness to the shooting identified Barnes and Freeman as part of a group of people present at the location on Lincoln Road, just outside of Poulsbo city limits, where Egeler was shot.
