Mexicanos llevan a cabo un impresionante desempeño en la quinta jornada de la Champions League: Un panorama completo

Santiago Giménez, Hirving Lozano, and Jorge Sánchez: A Look Ahead at the Champions League Group Stage

The fifth matchday of the Champions League has concluded, and only one of the three Mexican footballers participating in UEFA’s premier club competition has his future almost defined in Europe.

Here’s a recap of the face-off for Santiago Giménez, Hirving Lozano, and Jorge Sánchez and what’s in store for them as they head into the final group stage of the Champions League.

‘Chaquito’ and Feyenoord have been eliminated from the Champions League after a home defeat against Atlético de Madrid. Giménez was one of the “villains” in the game against Los Colchoneros, scoring an own goal in a 1-3 loss. Rotterdam’s squad will continue their European campaign in the Europa League.

So far, ‘Bebote’ has scored two goals in the Champions League Group Stage and hopes to find the net at least once more in the final game against Celtic. Feyenoord’s performance in the Champions League did not meet fans’ expectations after the reigning Dutch champions’ strong start to the season.

PSV and ‘Chucky’ are almost guaranteed a spot in the Champions League Round of 16 after a historic comeback against Sevilla. The Eindhoven team managed to overturn a 2-0 deficit at the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán and knock out Diego Alonso’s squad. In the final matchday, PSV will seek to secure their place in the Round of 16 with a win or draw against Arsenal. If they lose to the Gunners, PSV will advance to the next round with a draw or a loss by Lens, who would only go through by beating Sevilla combined with a defeat from the Dutch team.

Meanwhile, Lozano had to leave the game against Sevilla before the end of the first half due to an injury that the PSV coaching staff hopes is not serious. So far, Hirving has not scored in this season’s Champions League campaign.

Former Club América player participated in Porto’s defeat to Barcelona, a team that secured its place in the Round of 16 with a victory over Los Dragones. However, Porto will head into the final matchday of the Group Stage depending on themselves to progress to the next round.

On December 13th against Shakhtar, Porto will contest the final available spot in their group for the Round of 16. With a win or draw, the Dragones would advance to the next round of the competition.
