June 23 (UPI) — Peacock has officially renewed the comedy series Bupkis for its second season.

The announcement came through a press release from Peacock on Friday.

Bupkis, created by and starring Pete Davidson, who also serves as the writer and executive producer, has received a renewal for another season. The show is co-written and executive produced by Judah Miller and Davis Sirus, with Miller as the showrunner.

Lorne Michaels, Andrew Singer, and Erin David are also executive producers on the series.

Bupkis is a semi-autobiographical series that follows Pete Davidson, an actor and comedian renowned for his work on Saturday Night Live, as he navigates through unique family dynamics and the complexities of fame in his pursuit of meaningful relationships.

Edie Falco and Joe Pesci also star in the series, with guest appearances from notable celebrities such as Lala Anthony, Machine Gun Kelly, Steve Buscemi, Bobby Cannavale, Charlamagne Tha God, Ray Romano, Cliff “Method Man” Smith, Jon Stewart, and Kenan Thompson.

Susan Rovner, the NBCUniversal television and streaming chair of entertainment content, expressed her enthusiasm for the renewal of Bupkis. She praised Pete Davidson’s exceptional talent, noting that the first season of the series was truly remarkable. Rovner emphasized Davidson’s ability to evoke both laughter and deep emotions with his unfiltered comedic style and raw vulnerability. She concluded by stating how proud they are to continue the journey with Pete, Lorne Michaels, Broadway Video, and their partners at Universal Television for a second season as they further strengthen Peacock’s comedy lineup.

Bupkis premiered on Peacock in May and recently made Season 1, Episode 2 available for streaming on YouTube, as well as airing it on NBC after SNL.
