Search Warrant for Tupac Relates to Alleged Witness

According to a report from NBC News, new details have emerged about the search warrant executed this week in relation to the murder of Tupac Shakur in 1996. The Las Vegas police searched a home connected to Duane Keith Davis, aged 60, who is suspected to have been in the shooter’s vehicle. The suspected shooter, Orlando Anderson, is actually Davis’ nephew. The home that was raided is owned by Paula Clemons, who is married to Davis, also known as Keefe D, according to TMZ. The police conducted a thorough search of the home, including desktops, thumb drives, audio recording devices, and other electronics, in hopes of finding evidence.

Davis, who is described as a former member of the Crips gang in Compton, has previously spoken to the police under a “limited non-prosecution agreement.” Recently, he has been giving interviews publicly discussing his presence during the shooting, as reported by NBC. Following the incident, a group involving Shakur allegedly attacked Anderson hours before the rapper’s fatal shooting, according to 8newsnow. One popular theory suggests that Anderson may have shot Shakur in revenge. However, Anderson denied this before being fatally shot himself in Los Angeles in 1998.

The recent raid raises more questions than answers. The Root ponders what led the police to obtain a search warrant and what investigators have learned about Keefe D. Only time will reveal the answers.
