Seahawks Enter Bye Week With Confidence and Momentum: ‘We’re Just Getting Started’

After the victory celebrations in the visitor’s locker room at MetLife Stadium, Seahawks coach Pete Carroll took a moment to reflect on his team’s progress since their disappointing season opener against the Rams.

The Seahawks showcased their dominance with a 24-3 win, powered by an impressive defensive performance. As they head into the bye week, Carroll couldn’t contain his excitement for the potential this team holds.

“With optimism and a focus on development, witnessing our young players contribute fills us with confidence for our future growth,” Carroll remarked. “We’re still a work in progress, but we’re gaining momentum. It’s truly exhilarating to say this because what I’m most proud of is our performance in the second halves of the past three weeks. We’ve played exceptional football, rectifying the mistakes from early on and closing out games. This finishing mentality is incredibly valuable to us, and we’ll continue to build upon it.”

Similar to his coach, quarterback Geno Smith looks forward to what lies ahead for the Seahawks. Not because of their accomplishments thus far, but because he believes they are capable of even more.

“I believe we’re still improving as a team,” Smith expressed. “Overall, we have plenty of room for growth. Many players stepped up and battled through adversity. Despite the constant changes in our offensive line, guys stepped in and made plays. The defense had an outstanding game, one of the best I’ve seen from them. Witherspoon had an exceptional day. The defensive line, linebackers, and secondary all played exceptionally well. It was a fantastic victory for this team.”
