Samsung Electronics’ Executive Vice President, Park Chan-woo, unveiled the company’s groundbreaking AI-powered food platform during a media event at its headquarters in Seoul. This innovative platform, known as Samsung Food, will be officially introduced at the upcoming IFA 2023 in Berlin, Europe’s largest consumer electronics show.

Samsung Food is designed to cater to the unique dietary needs of Samsung home appliance customers through a seamless mobile link. With a vast database of over 160,000 unique recipes, users will have the ability to create personalized lists of their favorite recipes based on their preferences and nutritional requirements.

Utilizing advanced AI technology, Samsung Food takes into account users’ likes, dislikes, as well as their family members’ tastes and cooking skills to provide tailored meal plans. Additionally, the platform will enhance meal planning, food preparation, and storage, offering a comprehensive interface for all aspects of culinary management.

One of the standout features of Samsung Food is its ability to make meal recommendations based on the ingredients available in a user’s Samsung refrigerator, thanks to seamless integration with the platform. For instance, if a vegetarian user wants to prepare a dish that typically includes meat, the mobile application can modify the recipe by suggesting suitable alternative ingredients.

During a press conference, Executive Vice President Park Chan-woo stated that Samsung Food aims to provide users with a highly customized dining experience, acting as a mobile nutritionist. The company’s ambitious goal is to attract at least 1 million users to Samsung Food by the end of the year. Launching on August 31, the platform will be accessible in eight languages and more than 100 countries.

Moreover, Samsung plans to further enhance the functionality of Samsung Food by integrating it with their health app later this year. This integration will enable users to manage meals tailored specifically to their individual health conditions.
