During a media event held at its head office in Seoul on Thursday, Samsung Electronics Executive Vice President Park Chan-woo introduced the company’s AI-powered food platform, which is set to launch at the IFA 2023, Europe’s largest consumer electronics show in Berlin next month. The platform, called Samsung Food, will provide personalized dietary solutions for Samsung home appliance customers through a mobile link.

Samsung Food provides users with access to over 160,000 unique recipes, allowing them to create lists of their favorite dishes based on their preferences and nutritional requirements. The platform takes into account the user’s preferences, as well as the tastes and cooking skills of their family members, to offer customized meal plans. Additionally, the interface between Samsung Food and other appliances will improve meal planning, food preparation, and storage.

For example, if a user has a Samsung refrigerator connected to the platform, Samsung Food can suggest meal options based on the available ingredients in the fridge. In cases where a vegetarian wants to modify a recipe that originally includes meat, the mobile application can offer alternative ingredient suggestions. Samsung Executive Vice President Park Chan-woo described Samsung Food as a “mobile nutritionist” that provides a highly personalized dining experience.

The company aims to attract at least 1 million users to Samsung Food by the end of the year. Starting from August 31, Samsung Food will be available in eight languages and more than 100 countries. In the near future, Samsung plans to integrate Samsung Food with its health app, allowing users to manage meals tailored to their specific health conditions.
