Reynolds, along with fellow actor Rob McElhenney, purchased the club in 2020 and launched a docuseries about their journey.
The upcoming season, set to premiere in September, follows the team’s efforts to move up from the National League. In the trailer, McElhenney emphasizes the importance of promotion, stating that failure to achieve it would make the club unsustainable. Reynolds echoes this sentiment, highlighting the responsibility they feel towards the community.
Interwoven with clips of the players on the pitch, the trailer features a choir rendition of “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You” as a backdrop. Additionally, it showcases the memorable meeting between Reynolds, McElhenney, and the King and Queen Consort during their visit to the football club in 2022.
Last season, Wrexham secured the National League title with an impressive 111 points, leading to their promotion to the Football League. This marked their return to the fourth tier of football for the first time since 2008. Their debut game back was attended by both Reynolds and McElhenney, along with fellow actor Hugh Jackman, though the team unfortunately lost 5-3 to MK Dons.
Both Reynolds and McElhenney serve as executive producers on Welcome To Wrexham, which will be available for streaming on Disney+ in the UK starting September 13th.
