Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively Spark Speculation as They Make a Surprise Appearance on ‘Great British Bake Off’

The renowned couple solidified their status by paying a visit to the iconic white tent of the show and taking pictures alongside judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith. Fans of the series strongly believe that the couple has joined for a celebrity edition, as hinted by Reynolds himself.

On Instagram, Reynolds wrote on Friday, “A full and unconditional hug of pure serotonin.” he wrote Friday on Instagram.

In the accompanying photo with Leith and Hollywood, the bespectacled “Deadpool” star appeared to be all smiles, while Hollywood’s Cheshire Cat grin hinted at a special episode. The notoriously strict judge even left a suggestive comment on the actor’s post.

Hollywood wrote, “Great catching up…”

The 57-year-old chef also posted his own photo with Lively and took a dig at his co-host by saying, “Sorry Pure, Blake (@blakelively) has taken your seat… welcome to cake corner Blake.” Lively, 35, was visibly delighted to be there, just like her husband.

“The 2 people I’d love to see do Celeb bake off Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively imagine the competitiveness,” commented one fan, while another jokingly said, “Does that mean you and Prue are going to be in the next ‘Deadpool’ movie?”

While the latter scenario is unlikely, the former is certainly possible, considering that “Friends” star David Schwimmer and “Walking Dead” actor David Morrissey have previously competed on the show. The celebrity edition, which is currently filming over the summer, does not have a confirmed release date yet, as reported by Deadline.

“You’ve done celeb bake off?! That’s it then. We can end television now. It’s done,” commented one fan on Instagram, while another wrote, “I swear to god if you are on one of the special edition episodes I will lose my mind.”

Reynolds has notably spent a significant amount of time in the U.K. after acquiring Welsh soccer club Wrexham A.F.C. with “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” star Rob McElhenney. If the speculations of online sleuths are correct, Reynolds and Lively are about to redefine the concept of “star” bakers.

“The Great British Bake Off” — reportedly known as “The Great British Baking Show” in the U.S. due to copyright issues with Pillsbury — will return for its 14th season in September. As for the much-anticipated celebrity edition, its release date is yet to be announced.
