Ruth’s Chris Steak House Coming Soon to Wolf Road

COLONIE — The highly-anticipated arrival of Ruth’s Chris Steak House in the Wolf Road corridor of the Capital Region is just around the corner. According to a company spokesperson, the first location in the area is set to open at the end of August, with a projected date of August 28th. However, this date may be subject to change depending on various factors.

If you’re eager to make a reservation at this exciting new establishment, you can head over to their online reservations page starting from August 25th. The page indicates that the restaurant will be open daily from 4 PM to 9:30 PM, with seating available during that time. It’s worth noting that there is no specific dress code, although diners are kindly requested to remove their hats when in the dining room.

After being announced 16 months ago, the popular steakhouse chain will be occupying the former Romano’s Macaroni Grill building located at 1 Metro Park Road. This 8,100-square-foot space previously served as a Macaroni Grill until its abrupt closure in March 2020 due to the pandemic.

Founded in 1965 by Ruth Fertel, who purchased an existing New Orleans steakhouse and gave it her name, Ruth’s Chris Steak House now boasts approximately 135 locations across the United States and is present in 20 other countries. While the first location in the Capital Region gears up to open its doors, the chain already has four other successful establishments in New York, located in Westchester County and on Long Island.

As for the menu, guests can expect a wide array of options to choose from, including 15 starters, 11 cuts of beef, five other enticing entrées, and a selection of nine sides. Although prices for the Wolf Road location have yet to be published, starters typically average around $20 in their Westchester locations, while steaks are priced at $65 and other entrées at $48. For a full three-course meal for two people, which includes a shared appetizer and dessert, two entrées, and two sides, patrons can expect to spend around $250 after tax and gratuity, making Ruth’s Chris Steak House one of the most upscale dining experiences in the Capital Region. Other notable high-end restaurants in the area include independently-owned establishments like 677 Prime and Yono’s in Albany, The Roosevelt Room in North Greenbush, Salt & Char, and 15 Church in Saratoga Springs, as well as the popular chain Morton’s The Steakhouse, also located in Saratoga.

In a recent development, Ruth’s Chris Steak House was acquired by the prominent restaurant group, Darden Restaurants, which owns a collection of ten well-established brands, including Olive Garden and LongHorn Steakhouse. Both of these chains already have successful locations on Wolf Road.
