Rugby Australia is poised to make a move in the NRL once again, targeting Sydney Roosters backrower Angus Crichton with a lucrative $1.6 million contract offer.
This comes after the Wallabies’ shameful exit from the World Cup in the group stage for the first time.
Crichton, aged 27, was a standout rugby player at the Scots College in Sydney before joining the Rabbitohs after finishing high school.
In 2019, he joined the Tricolours and won a premiership under Trent Robinson.
It is believed that the ARU contract worth $1.6 million is for the years 2024 and 2025.
