Royal expert reveals King Charles’ eagerness to reconcile with Prince Harry

It appears that a family reunion could be on the horizon for the royal family. According to Richard Palmer, a royal reporter for the Daily Express, King Charles is eager to mend his relationship with his son Prince Harry and daughter-in-law Meghan Markle. During a recent episode of The Daily Express’ Royal Round Up, Palmer shared his thoughts on the future of their father-son bond. Palmer suggested that the King would be open to welcoming them back, despite the current tension. However, he noted that the ongoing feud is quite evident, as the King has not met with his son during his previous visits to the UK. The Post has reached out to Buckingham Palace for comment on the matter.

Over the past few years, Prince Harry and Meghan have seemingly had conflicts with certain members of the royal family. These tensions escalated following the release of Prince Harry’s revealing memoir, “Spare,” in January. In the book, Prince Harry alleged that in November 2019, his brother Prince William physically confronted him over a disagreement about Meghan. The Prince described the confrontation, stating that he was grabbed by the collar, causing his necklace to break, and he was knocked to the ground, injuring himself on a dog’s bowl. Prince Harry also claimed that during the altercation, Prince William referred to Meghan as “difficult,” “rude,” and “abrasive.” He further depicted his brother as his “arch-nemesis” and detailed the alleged falling out between Meghan and Kate Middleton over a comment Meghan reportedly made prior to her marriage to Prince Harry.

Prince Harry’s memoir also touched on his relationship with Queen Camilla, his stepmother. According to the book, the Prince believed that she was leaking stories to the press about the royal family, which left him feeling furious. The book sheds light on the complex dynamics within the royal family, including the history of King Charles and Princess Diana’s marriage and subsequent divorce. Princess Diana tragically passed away in a car crash in 1997, and King Charles married Queen Camilla in 2005, amid allegations of an affair during his marriage to Diana.

Despite the strained family relationships, there may be signs of reconciliation. Last week, on Father’s Day, the official Twitter account of the Royal Family shared photos of King Charles, Prince Harry, and Prince William from their earlier years, seemingly extending an olive branch. Additionally, Prince Harry briefly returned to the UK in May to attend his father’s coronation ceremony. However, he quickly returned home to California to be present for his son Archie’s fourth birthday.

It remains to be seen how this family reunion will unfold, but it is clear that King Charles is eager to mend the rift with his son and daughter-in-law. Time will tell if their relationships can be repaired and if the royal family can find common ground once again.
