Ron DeSantis Debate Memo Leak Leaves Paul Begala Stunned

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’ leaked presidential debate advice, detailed in documents published by The New York Times and later removed from the website of Axiom Strategies, has been criticized by CNN commentator and Democratic political strategist Paul Begala as “the dumbest thing I’ve seen in a long time.”

The leaked memo outlined four key goals for DeSantis during the debate:

1. Attack Joe Biden and the media 3-5 times.

2. State DeSantis’ positive vision 2-3 times.

3. Hammer Vivek Ramaswamy in response.

4. Defend Donald Trump in response to a Chris Christie attack.

Begala criticized the leak for putting DeSantis in a difficult position, as everything he says in the debate may be seen as scripted and false. He also suggested that the other candidates mentioned in the memo should thank the DeSantis super PAC for the advantage it provides them.

The memo also instructed DeSantis to share a personal anecdote about his family and to use specific lines to defend Trump and attack Ramaswamy. The memo was among a collection of campaign advice and research for DeSantis’ campaign.

It should be noted that Trump is unlikely to attend an upcoming debate hosted by Fox News in Milwaukee, as he currently leads DeSantis by a significant margin in the polls, according to RealClearPolitics.
