Located in Aruga, the former hotel turned serviced apartments building just outside Power Plant Mall in Rockwell, Prologue is a redesigned restaurant that offers a serene dining experience amidst the mall’s hustle and bustle. During my recent visit, the restaurant was empty, making it a perfect spot for those seeking a quiet place to dine.

Situated on the ground floor, Prologue exudes elegance with its tastefully framed art pieces on the walls and luxurious couches in place of chairs for some tables.

The menu at Prologue is curated by Chef Hiroyuki Meno, a renowned chef formerly of Brasserie Paul Bocuse and Maison Paul Bocuse in Tokyo. Having worked at several Michelin-starred restaurants, Chef Meno brings a fusion of Japanese and French flavors to the table.

The menu offers a diverse selection, catering to the taste preferences of every diner. From pizzas and pastas to sandwiches, Asian favorites, grilled specialties, and steaks, there is something for everyone. The appetizers, such as escargot bourguignon, fried tripe, and moules mariniere, are delightful, and the truffle chips are irresistible.

If you’re craving steak, Prologue has options like the Canadian bone-in ribeye weighing 800 grams and priced at P5,800, and the more manageable US ribeye weighing 300 grams and priced at P2,700.

For individual servings, the mains include Beef Burgundy, Moroccan Lamb, Buttermilk Fried Chicken, Norwegian Salmon Steak, and Fish and Chips made with Dory.

Prologue also offers rice bowls, perfect for those who had a long day at work. The beef rendang, made with Australian wagyu brisket, is tender and flavorful, while the chicken tandoori from the grills section is mild yet enjoyable.

In addition to its dining area, Prologue also provides a small section that can be used as a conference room, making it an ideal setting for meetings or gatherings. And if you’re in the mood for a lively dining experience, Prologue can accommodate loud groups, adding to the fun atmosphere.

After your meal, you can easily catch a movie at the nearby mall, such as Barbie, Oppenheimer, or Mission Impossible.
