Following their 34-3 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars, the 49ers sent a strong message throughout the NFL. Former All-Pro defensive back Richard Sherman made a compelling case for the 49ers as the team to beat in the NFC during a recent episode of FS1’s “Undisputed.”
Sherman praised the team’s defensive improvements, emphasizing the efforts of Fred Warner, Talanoa Hufanga, Chase Young, and others. They held the Jaguars to only three points, an impressive feat considering the previously undefeated Jaguars had been on a five-game winning streak.
The 49ers’ defensive pressure resulted in five sacks and forced four turnovers on quarterback Trevor Lawrence. Notably, the 49ers’ offense also performed exceptionally, earning 34 points in a remarkable comeback from their prior disappointing scoring trends.
Highlighting the 49ers’ recent success, Sherman expressed his admiration for Christian McCaffrey’s performance and the decision to move defensive coordinator Steve Wilks from the booth to the field permanently.
After maneuvering through a challenging period, the 49ers have re-established themselves as one of the league’s most elite teams. San Francisco fans can anticipate an electrifying matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Levi’s Stadium.
