Greenworks Introduces New Sustainable Adventure E-Mobility Range
Greenworks, the manufacturer of indoor and outdoor power tools, is now venturing into the world of electric mobility. Using their innovative swappable battery packs, Greenworks has created a line of e-mobility products that include ebikes, an electric UV, and an e-minibike. The company aims to promote sustainability and active lifestyles while providing a unique and exciting experience for the whole family.
According to Klaus Kahn, the president of Greenworks North America, “We’ve harnessed our cutting-edge battery technology to develop a range of eco-friendly adventure products that are accessible to everyone. We want to inspire consumers to embrace sustainable solutions, get outdoors, and feel great about it.”
The standout feature of Greenworks’ e-mobility range is its battery platform, which is readily available nationwide. One battery pack, the 24-V Li-ion battery, powers over 125 Greenworks tools, while the remaining products utilize 60-V or 80-V packs that are compatible with over 75 indoor and outdoor Greenworks products.
The first two products in the e-transport range are the Go-Kart and the Minibike, both available now. The Go-Kart is a two-seat electric vehicle (model GC60L820) made of heavy-duty steel tubing and equipped with safety features like padded roll bars and safety harnesses. With a weight capacity of 275 lb (125 kg), this Go-Kart is perfect for family adventures. It can reach speeds of 15 mph (24 km/h) in eco mode and 25 mph (40 km/h) in sport mode. The current model, powered by two 60-V/8-Ah batteries, has a per-charge range of 20 miles (32 km) and is priced at US$1,999.99.
The Stealth Series Minibike, also available now, offers an electric alternative to gas-powered minibikes. It boasts 40% more power than a gas equivalent while eliminating the hassles of gas, noise, and maintenance. With a top speed of 25 mph (40 km/h), this minibike is perfect for off-road adventures. It runs on two 480-Wh batteries, providing a per-charge range of 20 miles. The Minibike is priced at $1,499.99, and an 80-V version is expected to launch in 2024.
In 2022, Greenworks will release three models of electric bikes or ebikes. The first model is a Class 2 fat-tire utility ebike designed for both road and trail riding. It features a heavy-duty aluminum frame capable of carrying loads up to 300 lb (136 kg). This ebike offers pedal-assist over three modes, reaching speeds of up to 20 mph (32 km/h) and providing a range of up to 20 miles per charge.
The second ebike is a hardtail all-terrain model with 26-inch rims and 4-inch fat tires. It weighs 67 lb (30 kg) and offers a top assist speed of 20 mph (32 km/h) with a range of 15.5 miles (25 km) per charge. Both ebikes are equipped with mechanical disc brakes, headlights, side reflectors, and rear reflectors.
The final ebike in Greenworks’ lineup is a commuter bike with a 500-W rear-hub motor, providing pedal-assist speeds of up to 20 mph (32 km/h). It offers a range of up to 22 miles (35.5 km) per charge and features a heavy-duty aluminum frame with a mid-height step-over design.
In addition to the ebikes, Greenworks will also launch an electric kickscooter with front suspension and an e-UTV (Electric Utility Task Vehicle) with a top speed of 15 mph while carrying up to 550 lb (249.5 kg) in its dump bed or towing up to 500 lb (226.8 kg) behind. The e-UTV requires six 60-V/8-Ah batteries for a range of up to 20 miles.
All of Greenworks’ e-transportation products come with batteries and a charger. Safety accessories such as helmets, knee and elbow pads, gloves, and coded locks will be available soon. Each product is covered by a one-year limited product warranty and a four-year battery warranty.
