Revolutionary Startup Unveils Groundbreaking E-MotoX Prototype, Creating a Stir in the Industry

Looking to hit the dirt and catch some air on a dirtbike without the noisy two-stroke engine? Slovenia’s Flux Performance has a cleaner and quieter alternative in the works.

The Flux Primo is an early prototype that gives us a glimpse of what’s to come. The introductory video at the end showcases its impressive features.

This test mule features a lightweight aluminum frame with a low center of gravity and KYB suspension forks that offer 48 mm of travel. It also has an Öhlins TTX shock in the rear. While details about the water-cooled electric motor are not yet revealed, it does have a single-speed two-stage transmission and a digital lever on the handlebar that acts as a virtual clutch for precise control.

Flux Performance is planning to embark on user testing in Europe, to gather ride and performance data that will inform the design and build of the 2025 production models

The prototype bike’s processing system collects data from sensors on g-forces, lean angles, and wheel speeds during test rides. This data will be used to develop algorithms to improve bike performance and rider safety for the planned production models. The bike also features a digital control system that allows riders to adjust power and throttle response, possibly through a companion mobile app in the future.

The Primo is equipped with a 450-V/7-kWh battery pack consisting of 432 cells, controlled by Flux Performance’s battery management system. To minimize charging stops, the battery unit can be easily exchanged for a fresh one in less than a minute.

The left lever on the bike provides motor braking, which not only extends the battery life but also reduces wear on the brake pads. The range per charge is still being determined based on real-world data gathered from rider experiences with the prototypes.
